What is Lent?
Lent is one of the five liturgical seasons of the Church year. It serves as a preparation for the great Christian Feast of Easter and offers Christians a time of renewal in their lives.
We recall and reflect upon Christ’s Passion (ie. his suffering and death) by uniting with his suffering through spiritual preparation, conversions and penance. This preparation manifests itself in the material world as we Sacrifice of self in works of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
This Holy Season is a call to renew our baptismal call where we were baptised “into His (Christ Jesus’) death” (Romans 6:3) and to live out the call of the Lord as His Sons and Daughters.
Lent in All Saints
Throughout this Holy Season we will undertake a number of spiritual exercises throughout our parish, to which all are welcome. The Lent specific exercises appear below, check back often for updates.
